Has it been a year already since 4K displays came out, cause dell has released the world's first 5K monitor... already?:

They used a Nvidia Quadra K5000 to run the two display port connections needed to push all those pixels (seen at 2:00 in video below) for it, so the hardware is there just not the affordable one yet:

That is not what i was getting at. SMH

    I game at 5760x1080 with 2x r9 290.

When one card can play games at that res then the hardware is available. BTW K5000 are not gaming cards and cost over $5000 each.

One card cannot even handle 1440p in todays day and age. So 4k cant be dead when it 1440p hasn't even become mainstream yet.

But interms of movies and playing movies at 4k yes hardware is available.

Lol 1080p is not even dead yet.

Well nowdays, 'dead' in IT seems to mean that it's not the latest tech in that field anymore. Kinda like saying your note 3 is dead and note 4 takes the cake now, but you still have people who prefer the note 3 mainly because of the price now and it still does what they want it to do.

I can't imagine what use I will have for 4K when I cringe at the size of proper 1080p Blue Ray movies lol
If we can get four times faster internet that is when i will gladly embrace 4k.

    For reals yo.

I tried streaming some 4k videos on youtube and not only does the video seem to lag, but the streaming takes 2x longer than a 1080p video would. So yeah dead is really an over statement.
