    GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    provides technical and consulting services on advanced products, network design and installation. Provides repair, maintenance, and related customer services, as needed to meet customer and service department needs. Provides reports and information to management in order to maintain the profitability and efficiency of the department and company.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Base duties & responsibilities:
    · Consult with sales representatives on sales opportunities and provide pre-sale support during the sales process.
    · Evaluate customer needs, research hardware and software options and coordinate with customers and sales the preliminary design of the network and technology required.
    · Prepare labor and equipment estimates for project cost quotes for sales and service sales opportunities.
    · Provide configuration services on all network file servers and on-site network file server upgrades.
    · Provide customer training and post-sale support following configuration and installation of networks.
    · Provide technical support to service department personnel on network related service calls and on-site services to maintain the integrity of customer networks.
    · Provide configuration and repair services to the service department, on an emergency basis, as needed.
    · Coordinate and maintain individual and project schedules within overall company schedule.
    · Perform all services within project budget and time schedules.
    · Follow procedures established for equipment and parts ordering, receiving, disbursing, returns and inventory.
    · Provide complete billing information and time reporting data to service manager and accounting.
    · Maintain certifications and continue training and education programs to remain technologically advanced.
    · Coordinate and maintain company network and computer system with other technical service personnel.
    · Maintain service department, personal workspace and general office in an orderly fashion.
    · Recommend and perform all other duties and tasks that will increase the efficiency and profitability of the service department and the entire organization.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: the individual must maintain the requisite knowledge skills and abilities to perform the essential duties of the position in a satisfactory manner.

    · Education and/or experience: minimum requirements of a high school diploma.
    · Technical training: specific technical knowledge and manufacturers certifications on various hardware, peripherals and software applications. Certification as a Novell network engineer or Microsoft certified solution engineer.
    · Communication skills: ability to effectively interact with customers, management, subordinates and other associates.
    · Reasoning skills: the ability to evaluate problems, collect data, establish facts and determine proper solutions.
    · Cultural abilities: commitment to our mission statement, belief in our values and support of our company goals and objectives.
