    Default firefox 29 - downfalls

Since the release of firefox 29 my faith in google chrome has risen quite a lot, apparently the only good thing about this release is a reload of the UI.

As a power user im accustomed to having alot of tabs open in previous versions of firefox without issues but now i realize that opening just a handful of tabs( about 10 or so) causes a noticeable slow down, an issue i cannot recall ever happening before this update. Attempting to close multiple tabs yeild a similiar result often leaving my machine frozen for a short while sometimes longer.
On the issue of closing tabs, closed tabs often resurface at startup asking if you want to resume and trying to discard that old session only makes things worse, the main gui thread often freezes and start to make a mess of exerything.

After all these issues i wonder why i am still using firefox, maybe its because i cant do without certain plugins eg download helper i hate having to install additional software when all my problems could have been solved with just a single plugin e.t.c, Or maybe it is a fact that im just a good old fan boy.

searching google i was able to find others having similiar issues.

    That's odd...

Since I got this update things seems to be a very slight bit faster for me.

Possible if that's not Windows your using that they haven't optimized it as yet for your OS.

Then again I have 8 gigs or RAM and firefox installed on a SSD, so I guess I wouldn't notice it that much if I get a slight slowdown.

I can never stop using firefox either, really need my plugins I have installed.

And where do you go and what do you do when you run into performance issues with Chrome? Opera?

I suggest you backup you existing firefox profile folder and create a new profile.
Before you import your data into the new profile, use it and see if you get the same issues.
This will tell you if it's a problem with your profile or with the latest version of FF and your hardware.

Remember, Opera is a rebrand of Chrome so don't knock it
