Default Number Portability Coming March 2014

Number portability for mobile phones ONLY should be in place in three weeks, according to the Phillip Powell on RJR this morning. Yes I know you heard it all before, but those previous announcements were just youthful exuberance, this time it's for real

August 2011: "Number Portability said to be coming in 6 Weeks"
January 2012: "Number Portability coming in 2 weeks"

What is real? The youthful exuberance? Or number portability.

While number portability would help some people in making the switch, the major issue seems to be the high cost of cross network call that digicel imposes when using its 10/8 plan which is the one I use

Not gonna make a difference to me. Dual sim phone + a sim card from both networks solved the problem for me.
