I say Asus vivotab over galaxy tab 3 (sold my Samsung galaxy tab for it and don't regret it, since I still own an Android phone)

    Check out video review.

Recommend you stick with android based systems. Finding support is easier and the devices are more flexible.

IMHO: windows tablets have an uncertain future.

I recommend getting a windows tablet if you do document editing from time to time, not the RT version but the full windows 8.
The reason for this, it is painful to type documentations and presentations on an android tablet and most doesn't come with a keyboard.
The next point is file format and also application, there isn't any good word processing available for android based on my knowledge unless its Kingsoft.
The Ms office app is a pain on Android and i think Microsoft did this deliberately.

You can always watch movies just like a Laptop or PC and almost anything you normally do on PC.

    Its made for Productivity Use

For all other entertainment, such as those million games we all like to play i would say get a Android, hands down.

$500 is about as far as i want to go really......

this isnt any easier than i where i begun. lol.

i just want something simple, yet powerful if i need to do something. recently sold a tab 2 i497 and want something new so i'm shopping around really. apparewntly android has more an edge. but windows is tempting. a whole new world. wonder what the resale value for windows tablets are??

    what about kindle?
