Did your phone replace your digital camera for capturing memories?

Digital Cameras were dead for me since I switched to Android. No looking back. Plus the quality gets better with every new device I purchase. Digital Cameras and MP3 Players have been fully replaced by my smartphone. I went to a wedding recently and took pics using my Note2, and the pics were beautiful.

When I want great night pics the phone just isnt doing it for me.

My canon powershot digital camera is like 8 years old and its till kicking 2 weeks days activity use, 2 months stand by on battery. Its auto focus is VERY slow some compared to the iphone. But when I upgrade to a 2014 canon powershot I will be in a better position to tell you if the digital pocket cameras are dead. But they certainly still rule in battery life.

However though I realise that its harder for people to tell that you are taking a picture with a cellphone than with a traditionally shaped camera. So sneaking a picture is much more covert when using a cellphone since its hard to detect. - paparazzi.

the same way you compare a smartphone camera to a pocket point and shoot camera. what is wrong with techies nowadays? you know cameras have processors too right? and motherboards? you could even put a snap dragon processer in a microwave. we could start a thread comparing alarm clocks to smartphone clocks to see which will get you to wake up earlier in the morning.

Does you camera take notifications, takes calls, make calls, runs bbm, runs whatsapp while taking pics?

Unless you deactivate the cell features of the phone when comparing battery life to your camera then it doesnt make sense.

We should also compare how many photos you can take at a wedding before your smartphone battery dies. I have no idea because I haven't tried it but its a good point of discussion.
