Guess I wasn't clear. RTGS (and ACH) allow you to transfer between two different banks, e.g. from NCB to Scotia

For NCB, as far as I know the following options are available for individual (non-corporate) customers

    In Branch:
    1) Between your own accounts
    2) Between your account and another account at NCB (Third party transfer)
    3) Between your account and another account at any OTHER BANK in Ja (RTGS)
    4) Between your account and another account at an International Bank (Wire transfer)

    Online:
    1) Between your own accounts
    2) Between your account and another account at NCB (Third party transfer)
    3) Between your account and another account at an International Bank (Wire transfer)

No. You can do and RTGS transfer in the branch if you like. You still have to walk into the NCB branch, but at least you don't have to walk around with the cash.

No problem, let us know how it goes. If the teller doesn't know what you are talking about tell her to ask someone else.

If you will be doing transfers from one Bank to another on a regular basis just get an account at First Global and do it from the comfort of your ho.. actually anywhere you have internet access.

Anybody familiar with Both First Global and First Caribbean? I have heard that they are both better than NCB and Scotia, but I am curious which out of the two is better.

I'm with one bank, family members and friends with the other respectively. Superficial comparison shows very little difference. Matter of choice and ATM access I guess.

    First Caribbean:
    1. Own ATMS
    2. International Wire Transfer with Online Banking

    First Global:
    1. No ATMs
    2. International Wire Transfer with Online Banking
    3. Most secure Online Banking with two factor authentication using tokens
    4. Open late during the week. 6pm and 7pm depending on the branch.
    5. Open on Saturdays

Thats about it with differences that I can think of.
