    Default Virtualisation Administrator

    Guys,

If you need for your IT infrastructure to be fully virtualised... that is have your desktops and applications virtualised in the cloud.... Let me know as i have a lot of experience in providing Desktop and Application Virtualisation.

How would it feel to have complete access to your applications/desktop from anywhere, any device, anytime. Increase the availability of your enterprise software and applications

Virtualisation gives IT administrators an easy and centralized way to manage employees' computers. Instead of each computer being separate, administrators create just a handful of VMs or VM templates for different roles within a company.

Experience the full power/benefits of virtualisation...
If you have any questions/concerns/queries as it relates to Virtualisation and the cloud feel free to let me know...

    PM for more info!!!!

Since no one has asked for assistance, let me be the first to do so.

So I’m new to virtualization, well sort of. I’ve been dabbling with VMware and VirtualBox for years now, but most recently Hyper-V. I’ve decided to step out into the deep thus forcing myself to learn. I want to implement VDI where I work. Ideally, I’d like to virtualize all the production related workstation. However, I’m going to start by only virtualizing 24 – 80 workstations, it’s basically going to be a proof of concept.

So I’ve already done some pre-assessment planning with the HP sizer for virtualization tool and MS’ MAP toolkit. However, I’m sorta shooting blind here. What’s the ratio of clients per server that you guys normally use when implementing VDI? How do you calculate IOPS and determine the average VMs that can be assigned per CORE?

I decided to try Hyper-V as opposed to VMware or Citrix because those have been tried and the POC failed. Even thought that was years ago and there has been a lot of improvement from both vendors since, I want to try something new and different. I know that for this POC I need at least 1 server, but ideally it'd be 2 so I can implement Hyper-V failover and a 3Par Storage system.
