    Default 9900 Wifi Fix

It's been a while. Anyway, have any of you Bold 9900 ppl or any Blackberry actually adjusted your wifi antenna yourself or went somewhere to do it? I'm going to have to get my 9900 sorted because I have tried every OS and it's the same weak wifi signal - weaker than other devices. So frustrating.

You should just get a android or Iphone. I really don't think you going to get a lot of sympathy here for Blackberry.

I have the problem from within my home; a floor beneath where the router is. It barely keeps the signal.

This is why I can't deal with some ppl and ppl in general. Obv if I had the money I could just go out and do whatever I want and wouldn't have to deal with certain kind of problems!!!! And may I remind you this is the Blackberry forum!

Would have to check and see if there is a genuine problem with that model. Your issue may very well be the fact that the signal is coming from a floor below. Concrete and steel are two enemies of wireless signal. Try moving the router closer to the roof of the ground floor / the floor of the top floor or near a window close to the room/s you need access in upstairs. Another option would be to get a wireless expander/range extender and place upstairs at the closest point that gives you signal. Another option would be to get another router and link them with a cable. Yet another option would be to get an outdoor antenna and mount between the too floors. And it goes on and on. If you say what your budget is like, if you can get parts overseas or not, or if you only want to deal with things with the current setup we can move forward. Bear in mind that the only ways to fix the issue would be to move closer to the router, get a better antenna or use an expander / other equipment - all of which will cost different amounts depending on your needs and budget. Waiting on your reply.

As noted if the router is obstructed then it will be difficult to get a good signal.

On my 9900 I pretty much get full signal as I'm more or less 3-10 feet away from my router at home or work.

What you can do is move closer to the router and see if you still have the problem. If you do then the issue is either software or hardware related. Perhaps it's the router well.

The router is working fine. It is in my bedroom and I do get full bars of wifi in here; occasionally it drops a bar for a short time but signal is maintained upstairs on a whole. Carried the phone to the Blackberry store in New Kgn and after opening it up, they said nothing is wrong with it. How do you guys find the signal of the 9900 compared to other phones you have or have used? This is my router btw http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/d...odel=TL-WR841N

As I said. Once your near to the router it's fine. But once their is some distance or interference between then the signal will drop drastically.

Just curious, what OS are your 9900s on and how do you find it with wifi and everything else?
