    Default Will BB lose customers?

    With BBM going cross platform to Apple and Android.
    Do you think it will lose customers to these device base on BBM being available to them?

    BBM is know to freezing frequently and battery life is not so wonderful;
    How will BB10 stand up to this?

    Personally I'm a BB lover, but with this move, I think I will be using an Android with BBM.

    90% of BB customers in jamaica only use bbm as the phone has no other functionality other than the z10 that many can't afford, so i figure in jamaica they should loose about 50% by the next year this time. They loosing a lot already and the BBM not out yet.

    They will lose some customers if the alternative is cheaper and reliable and supports the apps they want. Suh if bbm and whatapp can function well on a cheaper android based phone and it's stable with good battery life they will take a hit. If they charged a dollar for it they could make some loot still. #im just sayin

    I think the free bbm offering is in direct competition with whatsapp....Will be interesting to see how this pans out.

    Blackberry does not have the functionality or price point of android, even the "cheap" android phones now have more power than the flagship bb phone. Digicel is about to release a 4g android phone for $5000, that cheap phone has more function than all bb except the z10 and even that can be argued. When you are now are able to put bbm on these cheap phones what you think is going to happen to BB. Hope you get it now?
