Regarding reddit and PR. A little hard to explain. Needless to say, there is a high probability that institutions will readily respond to negative or positive feedback fostering in the reddit ecosystem.

Regarding visiting steam. The slowdown seems to have only affected the distribution end of steam. All other services seem to work as expected.

Regarding toning down deals. Not sure what you are asking, but methinks L4D is a lot more popular that expected or perhaps they did anticipate the rush and was testing the load.

Yup it's free thanks for posting this just got my copy . I was trying earlier when you made the post both on my computer and mobile and the webpage loaded once on my phone then started hanging. Was probably from traffic of a lot of people trying to get the game or other deals steam was having, but it's good now.

EDIT - Anyone on steam who plays it add me to their friends list (username: powpow).

For clarity - it works just like their previous things. You get it now while it's free and it stays as the full thing forever on your account when the deal expires and it's paid again. This way you get it for free. I think the deal will be up on Jan 2 or somewhere there.

I must say that Left for Dead 2 is really good. Animations are a bit off sometimes but the co-op fun makes up for it. Anyone else who play's it add me to their steam.

I second this comment. L4D2 is a lot better than anticipated. Haven't co-oped yet but the single player campaigns are an "off the chain" adrenaline rush.
