Let me tell you guys how i look at things whenever i hear things like these i say yes that would be great if this could happen. But stop and think for one second and ask yourself this question how will this benefit the government what do they stand to gain from this. Thats how decision are made in parliament everyday think about it then you will see the light at the end of the tunnel. Why does the country want 2 more service providers? You you think its because the want to give us variety or so they can have variety the country pays their phone bills. Think how does the government benefit from this

its only a logical move for the Jamaican Government when all is said and done....it's not rocket science.

poor roads= less maintenance(more money to keep within Govt.) resulting in more maintenance for your vehicle for all those lovely potholes and craters(more money spent on vehicle parts = more income tax for the Government) If you're a bit on the fortunate side to be able to buy yourself a lovely SUV then ...More money spent on vehicle= More tax for Jamaican Government. Bigger vehicle = More the cost for gasoline to run it...ergo more tax for the Jamaican Government. For all the people who thought they were smart to invest in Diesel fueled trucks,SUV's etc when the price was down are now saddled with the high price for buying that gas...More money for Government.
Sadly we live in what is called a spiral economy and will never see a change until some major sacrifices are made on the part of the Jamaican Government as the Residents and returning residents have suffered and bled enough.
We can debate our points for years to come but no REAL change will be brought about without a revolutionary idea brought about by unity.

It is being paid for by the tax the Government put on all calls terminating in Jamaica.

"Cuban light bulb scandal"... this comes to mind anytime any government say they are going to do something of benefit for the people.

Ok, so I'm from Red Hills St Andrew. Went back to moms for a visit Christmas and New Years. Used my sister's Digicel WiMax Modem and was able to get two bars and I was surprised. Now that's way up in St Andrew bush. Now I unfortunately moved out of Montego Bay City after living there for 6 years to a far away place called Maroon Town. Carried my Digicel Modem and plugged it in and no service, I'm like what? Look how Digicel advertise the service with man inna wata boots in some remote part of Jamaica. So me say ok, on my way to work I'm gonna stop over Fairview shopping center and check Flow or LIME. I live on the main road and noticed 3 black Data wires on the light post so I say one a dem must be flow, because one is for Cornwal Communications cable company and LIME. To my surprise Flow only stop in Tucker and LIME only have 512Kbps. I'm like what bush mi come move to. So rural people nuh want fast internet too? Wait we nuh have flat screen TV and tablets and gaming computers and smartphones too? My only option now is to use the cable company Cornwall that offers 2Mbps but using them in the city dem service bad, dem will all broke down for 3 days. So I guess I'm better off getting a Galaxy S3 yah man.
