Default Can IPad mini be used on digicel 4g network in Jamaica?

My cousin wants me to buy an Ipad for her, but where can I buy one that will work with digicel 4g network?

On apple website only see the WiFi version and another version that goes with AT&T, Version, Sprint???

    Is that the right thing?

    Help appreciated.

    the att one will work

unfortunately it will require a nano sim, which digicel doesnt carry..

one can cut a micro sim to a nano sim size, but its pretty risky

Can the digicel/lime chip work right away or it need to jailbreak?

Apple doesn't say explicitly if the i-pad is 4g??? Is it 4g?

    Thanks

You do not have to, according to digicel they support Ipad Mini and the Ipad 4th Gen for 4g connection http://www.digiceljamaica.com/en/ser...atibility-tool. Also the Verizon version in the US or the Ipad Mini and 4th gen Should be compatible with the Jamaican network system as they not only support CMDA but GSM as well. here you can see a full description what the models will support. http://www.apple.com/ipad/LTE/

But to be on the Safe side it is best to buy the At&t ipad as they use 700 mhz frequency and band 17 for LTE network, which I can almost guarantee digicel will use for its LTE network

Just cause you're a newbie I'll explain it to you... At the top left hand corner of each post made is the post date, which in the case the first date this thread was made was from December 8th 2012 I'm pretty sure by this time, they would have bought and shipped that ipad mini along time ago.. anyways crisp do your thing, just giving you a bit of knowledge to help with you continue posting, remember always look on the post date before you dig up an old thread, lol these guys & girls will crucify you if you don't..! Carry on!
