    how can you be sure that you haven't fried any of the other components?

    because i have another PSU (Thermaltake tr2 rx 750W) powering it right now and its all good

    LOL guys i had a serious laugh at myself today when the new PSU arrived and i was unplugging the old one from the wall i realised that the power cord got burned BADLY near to the socket and thats why it didnt power up (tested again with a new cord and the psu works fine) the old one will go into my secondary rig for now since i plan to get a GPU for it (something around a Geforce 9800 or ati 5770

    all in all im happy still

    I would put that PSU thru some testing before using it again...

    If you can use a PSU tester and check voltages to make sure they still in the acceptable range. If you have the chance pop it open and check to make sure none of the Caps are swollen or busted etc...
