No, download the game using origin and un-install it afterwards.

Are you sure all games are like that? All my NFS games and my Dead Space 1&2 games require Origin to be up and running in order to login to the servers.
I never trusted EA from day 1 so I re-bought all the ones I could on Steam.

I have confirmation from others on another forum that they remove origin after installing their games. Also you can run origin in a Sandbox. Need to double check on the server side. a sandbox is the next best thing though.
