    Default 3G/4G frequencies for Digicel

Probably been asked a million times but is it only possible to get 3G/4G on the 850mhz UMTS, or whatever it is, band? Lot of phones here have 900/1900/2100 and though I keep seeing people say digi is 900/1900 for 3G, it sure doesn't say that on their site or look it. Seems neither offers data on anything but the one frequency.

Any chance they will expand to other frequencies?

Also, is it possible to switch a BB service to simple Data if you happen to switch phones during the 30 day period?

Digicel for now will only offer 3/4G on the 850mhz frequency as this is most popular frequency worldwide.

If your device was not purchased from Digicel, it may not work on the Digicel 4G Mobile Network. Devices must have the 850MHZ band to work on Digicel 4G Mobile

Victory is mine. Though I guess i never said I did know they only say 850Mhz

I don't really care about 3G or 4G. Would be fine with decent EDGE data service so I have to ask, was there a thread here about free GPRS/EDGE service? Also anyone has info on Digicels EDGE service? cost, how to get etc...

turns out it wasn't working. At least, not right. I got charged for using data though I think that was because I changed the apn settings. Before the APN change I had been checking my credit to make sure it wasn't going anywhere.

How many people are getting excess charges so? Cause if u sign up for the 4G and don't turn off the data when it's up, it will stay running and automatically transfer you to using their pay as you go rather than blocking you from using it at all.
