You using the official charger or some 3rd party charger?
Over the years I've noticed nothing charges the phone charger than the one that came with the phone. Or if you use a no name one, or one that came with a diff phone like a moto charger on a htc it will take forever. Sometimes if you use the phone while on these chargers it will even continue to lose charge.

USB takes way longer than using the charger via AC. Also if you are using it while charging or have an intensive app running in the background it can increase charging time.

turn my phone off, gets to fully charged in about 1-2hrs

Turns out it the cable. The end that goes into the phone is corroded like it got wet or something.... Hiss teeth. Gonna have to get a replacement.
