My Samsung Galaxy Tab 2

I purchased my g tab 2 and loving it. The new idea of having no physical buttons is genius having rotating buttons on new devices is the way to go I hated the samsung devices that had a physical middle button which made them seem like an iphone or ipod

1 gig dual core processor
1 gig of ram
16 gig internal memory
samsung's modified version of gorilla glass called ultra tough
32 gig sd card


With many tablet options out there it takes a lot of research to get a tablet that's best for you I had a lot of requirements when deciding which tablet I should buy.

There are many options like the new ipad the nexus 7 and the transformer just to name a few.

My reason for choosing this tablet over the others are as follows.

The first 1 is price the price is very good when compared to some other tablets on the market, got it for little over 300 bucks brand new, 1 year full warranty. no shipping or custom charges

The second 1 is it comes with gsm ability which means I can use my sim card and make phone calls along with 3 g internet I hate the idea that most tablets are wifi only which means if you ever get stuck somewhere where there is no wifi then your pretty much screwed.

Micro sd card slot means my 32 gig sd card is in and running like a charm no sd card slot on the nexus 7 mean that means nothing good for me

It comes with ice cream sandwich out of the box and samsung officially announced that they will be pushing jelly bean early september this means on like my phone I won't even load a custom rom I will just wait for the official jelly bean and won't bother loading a jelly bean rom besides ice cream sandwich works great.

After loading a d w launcher launcher pro and go launcher I actually deleted all 3 and went back to the default touch whiz UI.

No I'm not saying that this is by any means the best tablet out there I'm just saying based on my needs this is the best thing I could have purchased for myself

No sorry if I misled you I purchased it's outside of jamaica so I didn't have to ship it. will bring it back home with me so I won't have to worry about shipping charges and of course I will not declear it at the airport so I won't have to worry about custom fees.

Since the tab comes with 16gb internl memory and you added the 32gb sd card. Does it mean that u now have access to all 48gb of memory

Minus the ice cream sandwich for the internal 16gb storage, yes the rest is yours to play with. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is fantastic, got 10.1" shows HD quality movies. The only drawback I found was that it didn't have a direct USB interface, but you can get that and also lots of accessories from Samsung and other aftermarket manufacturers. I also couldn't find a VGA interface for say a projector.

Question: Does it come with a earpiece in the box? That is a wired headset to make and receive calls.

No erpiece, it comes with:

Headphones that can be used for making calls.
Samsung charging/data cable
Power Adaptor

I find wifi only tablets to be a pain. I already have internet access in all the places I have access to wifi. I need something that will give me internet access when I am at the beach or liming in the country.

What are the pros and cons of using a sim card directly with the tablet? How does using a sim card compare with using a Digicel usb modem in terms of price and performance?
