So, I started the trial. So far it is not much different from Fedora GNU/Linux. It runs in a Vbox VM with 512MB RAM in 6GB HDD alongside a Windows install.

Installation was simple with the Anaconda GUI installer. There are at least 2 applications for any one activity.

What I have not tried yet is app installation and system stability due to modifications. I should try installing systemd, too. All that has to be done is to read the docs, I bet!

Bad news: my laptop got squashed with the experiment I did not get to test Conary. However, Foresight behaves like any good GNU/Linux does (gathered from the few hours of use in a VM).

Rpath does not seem to be working. Is there an alternative repo solution now?

Im not sure what you mean, if you mean you cant install anything with conary?
I've heard: When the RedHat developers present new packages to Linux User-Group, before the meeting is over,Foresight people will have downloaded the source, created a Foresight package, uploaded it,and it will be available for anyone to use.

The wiki states the ability to browse the repo at a rbuilder URI on rpath. http://www.rpath.org/rbuilder/repos/foresight/browse

But that link is not working with my browser. Is it Conary specific?

I am now in the process of modifying a relative's laptop for this test on other tasks so I am a bit slow. I also want to see what Mageia is up to.

Well, Mr. Forsman, I want to join your community soon. I have this one issue though. I tried to install Foresight on a laptop, but unlike the recent behaviour of most distros, yours have no wireless drivers. Why? My 3 favourite distros so far are Arch Linux, Tiny Core and Puppy (in that order): they are packed with wireless drivers. I am making a flash drive for various linux installs. I have Foresight XFCE, but it has no wireless drivers, so those installs are for only when there is a cable around.

you probably have broadcom wireless card.

    sudo conary install broadcom-wl broadcom-wl-kmod

    or B43 drivers:
