I wonder if I'll be able to play games based on DOS and just games in particular when the final thing comes out. After all what you peeps doing is essentially a beta with bugs. We'll get to play our games. It would be chaotic if PC gamers can't play on Windows 8.

Who knnows how the Win8 RP install works? I downloaded it and treid to install it over my consumer preview but that doesn't work.
I have a Win7 installation on disk now but that's my main OS so I don't wanna risk RP "upgrading" the os, i.e moving everything and giving me a fresh intsall.
I wanna know if I initiate the RP on my main Win7 os if it'll give me the option to install elsewhere , maybel load from another partition.
This install is different as I don't even know where the RP files where downloaded to. Seems to be all over the filesystem.

What is an epioc fail. If Win 7 and 8 have no need or do not have MSDOS in them and my .bat setup files, games and software work on windows 7 and not windows 8? I thought they were DOS free now as they cut out all of DOS and still able to play Quake 4 and Mass Effect 3. Or would I run as XP mode when i ruight click for that option. Will all the bugs be sorted out with this issue on final release or am I screwed.

Upgrading from Developer Preview or Consumer Preview to Release preview, none of the system files or windows folder will be maintain so it doesn't make a difference in the install. however in Windows 7 and Vista there might be a different since it keeps the system files intact and only upgrades the ones needed to be.

I thought Win8 saved app settings and port apps when you upgrade....
