actually it is, i was debating that same moot with some engadget users the other day, apparently "retina display" is not determined only by the dpi, the iphone 4/4s had 330 dpi, the new ipad has 264 dpi and the new mac book pro has 220 dpi, apparently because the screens on the ipad and mac book pro are bigger, they are viewed from a further distance than the iphone 4/4s,and from this further distance it still mantains the "retina" effect as pixelation cant be recognized from the average viewing distance of the ipad and mac book pro
