    Default Digicel 4G

Digicel released 4G today. Good for those with 4G phones, my 9800 is now receiving 3G, on a selected test basis.

Welcome to Digicels 4G Soft Trial. To access Digicels 4G mobile service, your phone must be at least 3G capable & must operate on the 850Mhz frequency band. If your phone was purchased from Digicel, it will operate on the correct frequency band. However, most phones purchased from TMobile, Verizon and Sprint do not operate on this band & therefore will not work. To check your frequency band, check on the box your phone came in, for HSPA or UMTS bands. Blackberry customers can also select the Options menu then go to About to check that the band is '1, 2, 5, 6'. Any other band shown will not work.

Saw that message not too long ago so.... I guess full launch soon?

Not Officially i'm assuming ... I was told from a worker that they selected a whole bunch more of people to test out the service..

I just saw the text message and then the 3G. I did not have to do a battery pull. Guess I was lucky to fall within the group selected.

Yeah, I battery pull and still stuck on EDGE ..
Even when I select the 3G/4G network manually it bumps me back to 2G Network...

idk about your phone, but my 9900 has an option where it would ONLY pick 3g/4g...... and ever since i've been getting 4g 24/7, it has NEVER even dropped to 3g (digicel)
