All I'm saying is we didn't know what the hardware for the next generation was in 2012, so we would have wanted Watch Dogs to be a demonstration of it. Unfortunately, watch dogs looks nothing like the 2012 showing anywhere at all.

Yes yes...I see the problem here. Allow me to explain.

You bought into the marketing propaganda. Which is silly.
Now you are upset about it buying into the marketing propaganda. Which is also pretty silly.

Happens to us all. Modders usually pick up the slack and in some cases extend your gameplay interest, but that's a PC thing

Everyone else seemed to have known.

We knew AMD won all contracts across all consoles.

And I was made clear that jaguar cores were gonna be used.

I suppose the hope was that, based on historical patterns, consoles would get much better performance from "lesser" hardware. For example, you could NEVER hope to run Battlefield 4 in any capacity on 512MB of split V/RAM on a PC. The rate at which PC hardware evolves these days, consoles will never catch up. Not if they want to sell them at a reasonable price anyway, and that's fine. Consoles these days are about convenient, comfy couch gaming with a few multimedia options, not necessarily chasing the latest graphics spec..
    No one expects the Inquisition.

Don't forget it's easier to develop games for consoles since they have one set hardware structure. Notice exclusives are always top notch to the platform they were made for?

Yeah consoles are convenient because you don't have to install the games and adjust graphics, etc to suit your hardware, but all this talk about Next gen consoles is just funny to us PC gamers lol.

Anyways, I finally completed the story mode of Watch Dogs and would give it a 8/10 for being a bit repetitive and short and not sucking.

Watch Dogs E3 2012/2013 graphical effects re-added to the game

Were you disappointed by the Watch Dogs graphics downgrade? Well you don’t have to be anymore as a modder has found the disabled E3 graphical effects hidden away in the game files and is actively re-working the code back in to the game.
The Worse Mod is currently in version 0.6 and does bring a bit of a performance hit. However, it does prove that Ubisoft had purposefully removed working features from the PC version of the game.

Here’s the full list of added effects in version 0.6:

Changes to the default fog values
Enabled bokeh DOF for the main cameras
    Stuttering Improvements
    E3 2012 Bloom
    Performance Improvements
    Enabled Headlight Shadows
    LoD Changes
    Reflection changes
Added 3 new cameras to the game(closer, normal, further)
Rain changes(High quality rain drops, properly reacting to light, etc)
    LensFlares(WIP)
    Lighting changes(TESTING AND WIP)
    Civilians density changes

I can't believe someone has to crack the graphics code to re-enable what the developers disabled lol. I actually tried the mod and couldn't believe I'm finally seeing the next gen graphics PC is meant to have being displayed on my monitor lol.

The Machinima guys themselves think this could be the fault of M$ and Sony wanting to promote their ting, so the water down PC graphics lol. The world of marketing:
