Oh there is a very interesting aritcle dealing with the connection.

Explains why Jamaica ended up being chosen as the base of the international seabed authority ... negril oil potential....the Norwegian oil exploration ship, the discovery of the massive undersea thermal vent discovered between Jamaica and Cuba's waters.. (us a wants in) ... the fact the China had the first rescue personnel on Haitian soil right after the earthquake ( hence us a sending a unusual large amount of military personnel to Haiti shortly after) ... Then the hush hush announcement of oil in Haiti's waters. ...

    Quite an interesting read.

I not saying we not going to get absolutely nothing if this proves successful but compared to what we should get...it will seem like nothing.

With the potential millions if not billions of dollars I think it would be hard to stop. If they find the projected amount the best thing would be for the govt to negotiate a very lucrative deal and some stipulation that a percentage of the workforce should be from the island.

I couldn't even bother to reply to his post since he was oblivious to the info and this just brings home the fact that we as a people need to be thoroughly informed of what goes on in our country.
