Hijacking this thread to give a bit of info.
Recently (few months now) I got a replacement fan from XFX and customs charged me USD$23 for it. Got the support chat between me and XFX and showed them that is not something I purchased - is a replacement for a defective part from the manufacturer. They didn't care. What they wanted to see was either a sticker, writing or prior notice with the shipping company that the item was a replacement.
If you're expecting a replacement part for something defective ensure that your shipping company is aware of it beforehand. If not then customs may rob you more than they usually do.
Also - bear in mind that the amount you pay for customs depends on whether or not the customs officer have sense or not - some of them will charge you more because they classify the parts under "electronic items" instead of "computer accessories" or vice-versa.
We never know too much that we can't learn. Unfortunately most Jamaicans are about "hurry come up" and swatting than actually learning....
