M20.... do you know what the biggest bottle neck is in our modern pc today?

it aint network speed.... nor cpu speed... nor the amount of ram... nor the amount of shaders in your gpu...

its two letters.... I/O... and by I/O we talking about hard drive... sure you can buy ssd that you need to have windows doing a thing a ma jig (trim) to keep it nice and fresh... but only on one drive.... the command is not able to run when ssd is in a raided array... so we are back to the good ole mechanical... head crash... platter a spin... chaw fire... magnetic hard drive.... and how do you achieve I/O speeds of over 800MB/s (you could still map to this over a gigabit connection and it would be faster than a single wd black in your machine...)... you make a beast array... a raid 50 that makes you wonder if your copy has started when in fact it finished 2 or 3 seconds after you clicked paste...

For those running two hard drives or more... copy a 2GB file from one drive to the next... post your scores... file size versus time it took use a watch to time it...

Hmm.. I think I get it now. Never cease to amaze with your knowledge and builds man. 10 one TB drives sounds like a lotta power though. RAID 50.. first time hearing of that type of raid, but hey it seems intuitive after looking on this google image.
