    Default IT pay scale

Does anyone have a current IT pay scale for Jamaica. Including the government pay scale for MIS / IT(x).

Try using this website, it may ask you to create an account but you dont have to

    Also please check https://www.glassdoor.com

You will have to create an account not sure how much information this website has though, at least for Jamaica.

Not in JA bro... those salaries are "minimum" wage here in the states for entry level persons in IT... an IT Intern/Part-time can make anywhere between $10-$30 /ph which is about 12,000-45,000 a year...

    You serious?

    USD$10 * let's say 5 hour work day = $50 per day = USD$250 per work week = minimum USD$1000 (J$89,000?)per BBC Month for an intern?!?!?!?

    interesting.

GO here for information on salaries for Graduates, Interns and Co-ops from my school goes up to 2009: http://fac-web.spsu.edu/cccenter/career/SurveyNData.htm

PS: Real Minimum wage is $7.25/ph

Yup dead serious.... HOWEVER you need to take out tax... so after tax depending on (your tax is taken out BEFORE you get paid)

    1. How often you get paid (Weekly, semi-weekly, semi-monthly,monthly)
    2. How much you get paid
    3. Whether its Per Hour or Salary

Your pay using the example above would look like this (VARIES FROM STATE TO STATE):

    WEEKLY:
    Gross pay $250.00
    Federal income tax $13.56
    Social Security $10.50
    Medicare $3.63
    Georgia $5.58
    Net pay (take home) $216.73

    SEMI-MONTHLY
    Gross pay $500.00
    Federal income tax $25.21
    Social Security $21.00
    Medicare $7.25
    Georgia $9.58
    Net pay (take home) $436.96

    BI-WEEKLY
    Gross pay $500.00
    Federal income tax $27.12
    Social Security $21.00
    Medicare $7.25
    Georgia $11.15
    Net pay (take home) $433.48

    MONTHLY

    Gross pay $1,000.00
    Federal income tax $50.42
    Social Security $42.00
    Medicare $14.50
    Georgia $19.17
    Net pay (take home) $873.91

HOWEVER you have the opportunity to get back some of your taxes when you file your taxes, as you may have over paid taxes or you don't make enough to be "taxed".

I'm an intern IT Administrator, but i work roughly ~140 or more hours a month depending on if I am on holiday or not.

May seem a lot but things can get expensive here quickly....
