Create an LCD Network Monitor using Opsview, Nagios and Nagvis
This looks like something I'd like to try out one day, when we replace some of our 12 y/o computers....
To begin, what I wanted to do was to create a way to monitor servers and daily processes without using up one of my workstation screens. After MANY upgrades/updates and iterations, I have developed this easy(ish) solution. Adapt it to your environment and post back what you created! These are the steps I would personally use if starting from scratch.
I won't get into too much detail, as there are plenty of Nagios/Nagvis resources on the web. This kind of monitor is ideal for a small to mid IT shop, but could easily be scalable higher.
Part you'll need:
LCD monitor. Any size
LCD Mount
Old Workstation
Server (or Virtual Server)
.
PC - Ubuntu 15.04 64bit Desktop
HP Pav G60-236US 3GB RAM Laptop, Ubuntu 15.04 64bit and Win7 Home
