    Thumbs up HOW old is your WINDOWS OR mac installation

    HOW LONG AGO DID U INSTALL WINDOWS OR MAC

    my system never use to have a cdrom or a virus scanner and and i dont use flash drives in my system really so the other day i got the shortcut virus and a few trojans from a flash drive using up my cpu and 100% and half of ram that type of stuff net wouldn't work blah blah blah!!!!

    i was thinking of formating my system if the manual cleanup and installing norton 360 didn't work and i started to wonder when last i format my machine so i went to drive c: show all files and looked at the date of the Documents and Settings folder (windows 7) it said 7/14/2009.... and when i went to cmd and did the "systeminfo" command it said 12/21/2009... with that date i was thinking i did a restore or something.....



    so my system installation is 2years 6mths 2weeks roughly

    Windows 7 starter was install on my netbook January 26 2011 and its still running great till now.

    Got a laptop recently so wasn't using my desktop much but up till then the WindowsXP Pro was from June 6, 2004

    Windows XP sp3 - just about 4 months old now- previous installation was runing about 6 years, bad sectors forced a format - major system files and their location on the disk got currupted

    there is a thread exactly like this somewhere here... where nestersan simply cussed off anyone who formatted to solved a simple problem.. , wonder if i can dig it up

    dig it up rite away - lol, i wont cuss thou, but i think formating for mi is when everythin possible, including surgery cant save the installation
