MSN Messenger 7 is now out of Beta!

Intresting. I noticed some of you guys talking about getting more Emoticons for messenger. But I don't see that option. According to the Help, it should be in Tools --> My Emoticons. But I don't see a button that says Get more emoticons.

Also I think I heard it mentioned that you can search from within messager? I have not seen that feature/option. Anyone want to point me to that?

I think they have removed some options/features from non-hotmail users.

@A_A i think u should reinstall messenger since u r not seeing those features? Did u download the setup? If so, what is the size

Nope. I don't have the search feature, I don't have the "Get more Emotions" link, I don't have the "Packs" link I see beside the Winks. I don't got any of that.

I wonder if this is related to the "Fun and Games" feature not working?
This is very strange.

I installed it this morning, but it doesn't really make sense if your friends dont have it installed. Otherwise some of the text formatting will end up like this: Ď5

Everyone who is using an older version is forced to upgrade. Messenger will alert everyone that there is a new version available. And of course, you get the choice of installing it now, or to be asked again 1 week later.

Blindz, I did some more testing and I finally got the Search feature along with the other features you guys mentioned to show up. Also my Games option is now working.

What did I do? Well, I went into my .NET passport account for my yahoo address and changed my country from Jamaica to USA. Only thing changed was that I saw the Packs link in a chat window. hmmm

So I logged out and logged in using my old hotmail account (MSN hasn't deleted it yet), I edited my .NET passport and changed the country to USA also ans saved. I logged out and logged back in and VOILA!!! Everything started to work. Games, search, msn ads, tabs. The works.

But the wierd part? My mom has a hotmail address and she has Jamaica selected as her country in her .NET passport account. And everything works ok for her. So I'm stumped right there.

But it goes to show that Microsoft is showing preference to American users, once more.
