Default Why I am charged for Local data usage when I have BIS

I have a friend who is charged for local data usage on her BB 8520 when she use any application or website that uses wap even though she pays for digicel BIS. Is there a setting that she can use to change this??

Just to be clear - she is paying for unlimited BIS correct? Bear in mind that there are various packages available from Digicel - one that is for social networking only - one for email only - and I think one other one and then the unlimited plan. The unlimited plans I think can be done weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. Ensure that she has one of the plans with full data or else she will be charged for usage.

If she is paying for an unlimited service and still being charged by the company she needs to call customer support. The BB help line is 878-2232. No charge to call.
We never know too much that we can't learn. Unfortunately most Jamaicans are about "hurry come up" and swatting than actually learning....

they do charge for wap usage you need to delete the wap certificates from the phone and essentially block the phone from trying to use any of those apps, btw BB world and apps all use wap so to avoid it, use it on wifi or step away from the BB

I always had a problem with that, everytime I change phones I have to change the default browser settings, I dont see them saying anything to their customers about being charged for wap usage, something is wrong with that.
