Default 'The Lab' hits home with Jamaican gamers

The Lab: Video Game TV, a locally produced show on Flow TV, is changing the way Jamaicans play by offering public access to the latest gaming information.

The Jamaican video-gaming landscape has a heavy following; nowadays it is all too common to be acquainted with a passionate gamer. However, there are few gaming support resources tailored to fit the Jamaican experience. While the local video-gaming industry continues to thrive, offering thirsty gamers a plethora of goods and services, it often lacks specialised avenues to bring information to the local market. The Lab serves to fill the gap where Jamaican gamers have relied on information gained from foreign media, or by word of mouth exchanged in the arcades and game shops which serve as oases to thirsty gamers.

    ...

The show airs Mondays at 7 p.m. with a repeat broadcast on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. on Flow channel 100.

I will check it out on Wed but I hope it won't be a typical game review show, or for them to be showing some overpriced watts new gadgets a far more interesting idea would be to showcase places or ppl where you can buy games cheaper

Or Zero they may try pulling of a local game review kind of thing across the consoles or for the PC or possible across all consoles, hand helds & PC, they would have more content that way.

My thing is where they gonna get content from are they gonna be reviewing games after the fact? most review sites and shows get the games in advance of release

The top site get previews but the average sites purchase the games on release date or earlier if they pre-order it, play the game for a week some play it like crazy for a week and then they are able to give a review of the game because many Jamaicans are iffy about purchase games on release and getting some credible information (not saying these guys are on that level, we will have to wait and see) then that helps with the decision. Because back in the days if I checked Gamespot or watched X-Play and they gave a game bad ratings I'm certainly not purchasing that game, unless I come across someone who owns it and play it myself or someone who have similar gaming interests as myself tell me its worth checking out.

Do you think there is a website for the program and possibly some contributing ideas or job opps

We have more content than we can shake a stick at, more segments than we can fit in any single episode, enough material to make hour long episodes if necessary. So right now all we need are investors.

He is very popular in the local gaming scene he is one of those persons who dominate gaming, where ever I come across him he usually dominates gaming he is well known at places like Area51 for console gaming, one of those persons who you have a very low chance of winning when you play against them. He is in video number 27 I'm not sure if he has any affiliation with Techshopja he just some how manages to appear at most console based gaming events I'm not sure what level he is as a PC gamer but he is one of our top local console gamers.
