To get Hardcore Techie beside your name, you need to make more than 2000 posts in the forum. So you got 1,998 posts to make...get started. But make sure you don't spam.
Becoming an Administrator, you won't be able to afford it, forget about it.

one quick question, dejavu, why would u want to be an administrator? especially on a site that you are new to?
Arch Angel Maybe he want to become a ADMINISTRATOR on the first 5 post he makes.
while u on the topic..fo real..how do u actually become an administrator...?
@archangel how did u become one?

arch angel is a moderator. I think Chris is the only administrator. basically, you manage the site, not just the forums. you setup ads, fix problems, anything that concerns the site concerns you. to become one, as arch angel said, u cant afford it
We only have one administrator, and that is Chris. He is the head huncho, the big cheese, di man a di yaad. I don't think we need another admin around here. But if Chris feels another admin is needed, I would think it would be out of the current list of moderators.
So that means you would need to make your way up to moderator status. How do you do this?
Some requirements to be a moderator are:
1 - Should be helpful. Help out other members when they have a problem.
2 - Adhere to the forum rules. Meaning keep the forum rules and don't break them.
3 - Have an in depth knowledge on one of the forum subjects. So for example to be a moderator of the Network forum, you would need to have good knowledge about networking so you can help answer networking questions.
4 - Be able to visit the forums on a regular basis.
5 - Be mature.
Those are just off the top of my head. Chris might have some more.
Even though you meet those requirements, it would be up to the Mods and Admins to decide if we need more moderators to oversee the forums. The mods would be asked who they think should become a moderator and each one will choose a person who they see meet the requirements and is helpful and respected.
I became a moderator because I was helpful and a regular poster and Chris needed another moderator on the team to cover the forums. So I became moderator of the ASP forum. Been working with ASP for years.
Later became super moderator during the transition from the old forum to the new one. Helped Chris out with the conversion and he asked me to help get members used to the new forum.
