i've used serendipidy before - it wasnt bad but i prefer CM7
i put it on because it was already on my pc and i cudnt bother download another one at the time lol ....... but my question is tho..when i want to switch from serendibiy to cm7.....can i just flash over the serendibidy? ......or i have to go back to stock seeing as how cm7 is gingerbread rom?
no you dont have to go back to stock..
its actually recommended you do a full system wipe before installing a new rom, before u do that, you can use titanium backup to backup all your old apps and settings and just restore them with the new rom..
well then.... cm7 here i come!
another thing..... do i have to re-install packages everytime i'm installing a rom?.....
Before i install the serendipity i had to use rom manager and "flash clockwork recovery" and reboot into recovery mode and "re-install packages" so i wanted to know if i have to do that everytime i installing a rom or i jus put on the rom.zip and install in recovery
It all depends on how the rom was built. Some will allow you to keep your apps (they dont require a data wipe), others require a full wipe.
That is why you see alot of apps now boasting about being able to install to your external sdcard.
As usual before you do any custom rom install backup your phone.
If you have Titanium backup though you dont have to worry about that since it can restore all your apps and phone settings such as wifi ap info and other lil things.
You can also use CWM to do a rom backup.
