Question BlackBerry 9900 and Claro 3G

I've always had bad luck when ordering phones with 3G, the 3G never works with Claro You guys know as well as I do that most BlackBerries we get out here are either T-mobile or AT&T, but T-mobile BB's are normally easier to get. What I want to know is, with the 9900, will a T-mobile 9900 3G work on Claro? Which would be best to get, a T-mobile, Rogers or AT&T 9900?

t mobile will not work out here unless digicel is planning on using their bands..

your best bet is getting a rogers or ATT phone..those will work here with no problems

Naw, some use different 3g bands,.. so not all will be compatible with Digicel/Lime/Claro ... Get Unbranded or AT&T/Rogers/Digicel .. some others in the list as well

Unlocking will not make 3G compatible ...

unlocking refers to SIM unlock, meaning allowing the phones to accept sim cards from different providers..

the radio's in the phones are hard coded to pick up certain bands..

T-mobile primarily uses the 1700Mhz band for their UMTS 3G services. This band is extremely uncommon for 3G and is only used by T-mobile and a few carriers in Canada. Plain and simple, if you want to use a 3G/4G T-mobile phone in Jamaica and it will only pick EDGE.

No form of unlocking/flashing will fix that.
