    Default Business Analyst Position

    Ropy Brought to my attention this position for the gleaner - i figured since im a Network major it wouldnt make sense for me to apply, but i figure there are others who could use it.. so here u go

    Business Analyst

    Position Requirements:

    • BSc in Computer Science or Information Systems Management with a major in programming.
    • At least 2 years knowledge of enterprise applications, core business processes and standard data sets.
    • At least 2 years experience building reports, exports and complex queries.
    • Competence in OO programming language such as .NET, ASP, C#.
    • Competence in Microsoft development tools and environment such as Access, Excel, SQL, VB.
    • A working knowledge of accounting principles will be a distinct advantage.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Managing multiple projects (planning, design, testing, implementation, etc) .
    • Implementing new business applications and processes in accordance with standard procedures and user department requirements.
    • Generating technical requirements analysis in accordance with established standards and best practice as required.
    • Developing small business solutions and assist in the evaluation of new applications.
    • Diagnosing and correcting operational problems in software systems.
    • Assisting in the training of users in new applications.
    • Providing administration and support on SQL databases .
    • Recognising business problems and growth opportunities that will enhance effectiveness of IT infrastructure and service delivery to the organization.

    This role requires strong computing skills and experience, as well as, excellent verbal and written communication skills. You must be able to communicate effectively with end users and IT/technical teams. You must have an analytical mind and strong problem-solving skills. You must be able to work on own initiative and possess strong project management skills.

    nope........... this one isnt for me ..... this is for the database/progamming persons that are good in crystal reports and .NET not to mention SQL SERVER

    payscale.com ha!! yea right if companies out here were following payscale.com, majority of us techies on tjamaica would all be millionaires and living the life

    Payscale is more focused on american salaries. Wouldn't work out in jamaica, I mean here the average teacher makes like 70k a month, when you get the average from payscale and convert it to JMD it's like 350k per month. Sad but true.
