There are alot of different problems that could have caused it though. So without knowing what caused it it's hard to fix it.
IDK what to put in this sig..........
i think it is more dan likely a heating problem

Yes RROD is mainly caused by overheating in Xbox 360, the thermal paste dries out from the processor that's below the heat sync, it is better if u buy a Jasper or a slim though I don't know if the slim has the RROD. if you do manage to fix it, the problem will return in just a matter of time, to me it's a temporary fix
You can fix it on your own, get some arctic silver in place of thermal paste. take of the clamp that holds down the X-clamps, dont allow the screws to make contact with the mother board. you will need nylon washers or similar to use and also some screws to replace what was on the existng X-Clamp.
anyone know where i can purchase some arctic silver?? i in portmore

I know you said portmore but there is someone in the classifieds selling it in Mandeville, you could try to meet up with the person to get it
just google it...its pretty simple.... and in doing it the xbox itself will tell you what is wrong with it.
