    Had a hardrive with some important data that I couldnt retrive because of the clicking and knocking. Placed it in seal plastic bag dumped it in the freezer,next day I was able to retrive all data,trust me after it thaw out the rest is history. I am sure a lot others will find it very useful,thanks for posting icuucme.

    Pity i didnt see this two weeks ago. It's quite an unorthodox method but from what you guys have said if done properly it's rather effective. Now i wish i didn't take the screwdriver through some old ones i had, MacGyver stuff. Gracias icuucme for shining light on the thread again, i'll keep it in mind the next time i have HD problems.

    nice info, i already knew of the freeze method it goes for sum data and audio cds as well that is "pretty" an gives you the (cyclic redundancy error) while copying files from it
