The top IT security cert is CISSP...https://www.isc2.org/
I am not entirely sure which company is presently providing training for this cert. Normally the exam is done in the US and can run up a pretty change for you.
guys i was just wondering.............. could you give me some insight as to some of the top IT security certifications avaiilable and how viable it is in Jamaica?
Also, could you give me the names of some of the training centers out here in Jamaica that offers these Security certs...

I am a troll! Don't feed me!
i am looking for a more practical cert as long as it is internationally recognised......... personally i am not fond on "paper cert" security exam as that doesnt really make any sense......... i want to be able to hack "ethically" or to become a white hat or even a grey hat hacker.
cuz rule # 1 in security is that you have to think like a hacker
any suggestions?
do you know of ant "Paper cert" security exam that is of real value and "real world" suited instead of some multiple choice questions that can be memorised and at the end of they day u have some nice credentials behind ur name but u cannot perform on the job..![]()

I guess some people are just silent listeners. I'm very interested in security, but the absence of sufficient funds and the MCSE\MCITP cert have kept me from pursuing it.
What's the demand like for pen testers locally?

If you going get certified with something that you going have to re-certify every x years then make sure you land a job that will pay you for the papers you have. Not sure where in Jamaica actually pay you what you're worth versus your American counterparts though. Bearing in mind that the cost of living in the USA higher than in JA.
We never know too much that we can't learn. Unfortunately most Jamaicans are about "hurry come up" and swatting than actually learning....
