i wouldnt say its the best speced - technically the atrix and the G2x are tied IMO the only difference is between better camera (GX2) and more space (Atrix).. but honestly, even though its best specced - im still scared of both brands.. motorola is not known for durability and neither is LG from my personal experiences - bah - i'll stick with what i know works

The Samsung Galaxy S II is toe to toe with this feature wise. Offers bigger screen and is thinner and considerably lighter...also comes with 2.3 out the box...GX2 must wait for update.

I don`t think i`ll ever touch samsung again, they are the worse at updating their phones. I`ll wait for the HTC sensation :)

not as bad as sony ericcson - that much i can tell you!!
NE-way, i would wait for HTC cuz i'd enjoy it more but i dont like HTC's reluctance into making a GSM phone with over 1GB of space.. i dispise its the dependence on A2SD

The SGS2 offers more, so you'd expect to pay more.

Well I don't see one manufacturer that is always on time with updates. They all slump time to time.
Been enjoying the Captivate thus far just not sure I am gonna blow the bank for the SGS2.

i cant fathom to think how much a 32GB SGS II will cost on release - dat an d iphone 5.. prob haffi get a loan from d bank 2 get one..
EDIT - did some research on recent sources and this is what i found
Samsung most awaited handset new Samsung Galaxy S II is now available in the Indian market. ShopYourWorld.com site for global online shopping is assuring to make Samsung Galaxy S II available to the customer within 12 days from booking. The announcement for its launch in India came some time ago. The Galaxy series of smartphone is hugely popular in India and its availability was a highly anticipated event.
The prices offered by Shop Your World are higher than those charged by regular retailers. Samsung Galaxy SII 16GB will be available at a price of Rs. 39,900/- and Rs. 51,900 for 32GB. There will be a significant difference in the price once this handset is available in market for plenty.
This Samsung phone has very high end features like 2.3 Gingerbread android sports a gorilla glass display with dual cord. The dimension is 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.5 mm with Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touch screen, 16M colors. The display features TouchWiz UI v4.0 and Multi-touch input method. Samsung Galaxy S2 also has features like 1 GB RAM, Android 2.3, 16 GB/32 GB Internal Memory, 8 MP rear camera with 2 MP front camera.
The Galaxy S II has been priced the highest until now where as its core competitors like Motorola Atrix, HTC Sensation and LG Optimus 2X are expected to be priced between Rs. 27- 35,000. This dual-core Android phone will definitely has a huge list of admirers and with its arrival in Indian market it will be a sight to see the eagerness of people, whether the response to this luxury price at which it is being offered currently, will be positive or not. based on the data from my currency converter app - when the phone is released the non-contract price for the 16GB will cost JA$ 77,000 and for the 32GB is $99,596 and based on the popularity of the phone - it would take years before its value depreciates to the JA $30,000 Range.. WTF!! NAAAAH BOSS!! i'll stick with a G2X.. cost wise the G2X is a more feasible decision

As a company it probably wanted to but there was no 'deal' out of going Android. Going Windows Phone means perks from MS and a ***** payment too. They simply chose to monetize the fact they were moving beyond Symbian.
The SGS 2 is a great phone but don't worry, it will drop in price before the year is out. You guys have to realize there are some real monsters coming this year. The HTC Sensation is just one of a barrage of new HTC 4.0"+ devices hitting.
Practically everything is focusing on dual core and being thinner so the SGS 2 looks wicked now, but eventually it will go the way of the GS originals. Also don't fret too much about Samsung updates anymore. They learned their lesson with the who fiasco last year and now seem to be really on top of pushing updates.
The LG is a nice phone but LG decided to go with a typical LCD vs. their Nova display which I think hurt it a bit in terms of PR and wow points. Obviously they have something else coming behind this phone, soon....and it will get Nova.
In addition to this, Samsungs new dual core solution kicks the pants off of Tegra 2. Tegra 2 is just aged now - don't get me wrong, it's great, it plays games well and looks awesome but after everything, the tech was out in 2010 so there's the disadvantage of time. Right now, both Qualcomm and Hummingbird chips dual core chips are superior performance-wise to Tegra 2. I expect Spring/Summer to be the last time we see Tegra 2 230/250 for this year.

popularity also determines pricing as well - not just specs. i highly doubt that the SGSII's price will drop considerably considering it is being pre-determined as android phone of the year by critiques so its hard to imagine that by christmas that an unlocked SGSII will cost $500. yes it is true that by next year newer phones will come out but who said anything about being better? in alot of cases motorola makes phones with better specs but doesnt stir the market that greatly to prove worthy competition. HTC on the other hand, HTC does give samsung a good battle - but with their constant release of phones with little space, promoting dependence on a2SD, samsung always looks good
anyway - im prob going to get a G2X - when prices drop for competitors, thats when i'll trade up but till then.. G2X is the best thing right now

I agree with you, its reasonably priced right now ($199 with contract, $499 without), and very temping too... but I'm thinking about waiting a bit longer...
This was my main reason for thinking about getting the GX2 but when i saw it made me think twice especially seeing that the AT&T and T-Mobile merger is going thru so far
“The T-Mobile G2x fact sheet, contains accurate information. The T-Mobile website is incorrect and we’re working to correct it. The G2x supports 850/900/1800/1900 MHz for 2G/GPRS only, and supports 3G/4G UMTS/HSPA+ bands I and IV. The G2x does not support AT&T’s 3G bands. This banding is hardware based.”

but that really doesnt change anything for me - as long as the G2X has support for everything its fine - but really, tegrazone from what i hear is VERY limited currently, im not sure how much it will be improved over time

Should improve a good deal though over the next couple months, it's basically their flagship phone and it does have good performance, so expecting good things from LG and game and program developers
