Winning Eleven 8 is here!
The greatest football (yeah, di real football) experience in video games has arrived. Sorry EA, oonu get beaten again - even with all the slick licences and presentation. Heck, even online play (available only on some versions of Winning Eleven) can't make Fifa win again. Winning Eleven 8 a di real football right here.

Differently still, I stop like FIfa after Jamaica stop mek it in the line-up with only one exception (2005). This was a really good football (soccer for Canadians and Americans) simulator with good graphics but the gameplay of Winning Eleven better to me. It's much more realistic the only place it drop down in is Internet play and graphics

Never played Winning Eleven, but i heard that it is good. I really love Fifa 2k5, thas the best Fifa (after the dissapointing 2k3 and 2k4) ive played. B4 i played 2k5 i loved 99 (2nd best now). Wouldnt mind trying out Winning Eleven for myself to see if it's better.

winning eleven 8 better in terms of gameplay (which is most important) but otherwise fifa is better. I want to play winning 11 so badly but the only way i know the teams is if i know the players on that team.
Manchester united is call man red (mi extremely vex) and arsenal is called eastern london i think. if i didn't know the players on the team i would not have know it was arsenal. those little small details piss me off.
How the hell am i suppose to play english premier league if i dont know who i am playing against. it those small things why i prefer fifa. I would never buy a wrestling game if i didn't know the names and personality of the wrestlers.
Until W11 gets all the licenses i wont play it much even though its a better game

I think they'll have a really big fight over the FIFA license with EA Sports. They've had it a long time and havent done a bad job with the FIFA's they created so far. Good look to them

It seems from malloc-x's post that there are no real life teams on the game

What i really meant then is if there is a team there with the names of Jamaican players.

You all need to read this (http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/sports/worldsoccerwinningeleven8/review.html)
Winning Eleven 8 has more licenced teams and players this year, and there is an edit function which allows you the ability to edit the team names and player names to match the real life ones. Team lists are on the web. Google for it.
EA is moving like a shark with the sports licences. They got exclusive rights to use the NFL licences for the next gen console NFL games. They also got exclusive rights to use the ESPN brand in games for the next 15 years. They are banking on licences to sell games. This doesn't have to mean that their games won't be good, but it doesn't guarantee it either.
WE8 has better gameplay than Fifa 2005. It may not have the licencing power, but the game itself is still superb.

Competition is good. I hope know that since fifa has competition they will step up with everything.

And you can just do a quick edit and rectify the team names.
Check here (http://www.winning-eleven.com/pes4/clubs.htm) for real team names.
Check here (http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/winning_eleven_8_roster_trans.txt) for roster info.

So true, gameplay is superior to FIFA but Winning Eleven trails in just about every other department.

Fifa is undoubtly the world's greatest football game. Winning eleven 8 needs some more Graph-X.

I can't understand how I could like graphix over game play. Well to each his own.

in a case like football games i'ld prefer gameplay over graphics but i do like the bling appeal, i like realism so whether is the graphics that makes a game seem real or the gameplay you won't see me complain.

I think that World Soccer Winning 11 and Pro Evolution Soccer are both coming from International Superstar Soccer. That was a really good game, especially the 98 version did kinda mad though, being able to score regularly from just inside the half. Konami has been trying to take away EA sports' crown and have come pretty close with these two releases.
