First i must say my specs are below requirements in some aspects, for eg. my cpu speed is 850mhz but everything thing else meet the minimum.

Finally have Far Cry in my custody and what can I say the intro tuff, but otheriwse i can't say much and i blame this partially, well mainly on my hardware, anyway after flaw-less installation followed by execution, the game shut-off my monitor when in full screen mode on a 128mb agp fx5200 video card at 800x600 reso or any other my monitor shuts off, anyway luckily theres a windows mode option which worked ok into the meu screen, after starting the campaign and taking in the nice intro the game began loading quite a wait but non the less the game started and shockingly everything was blue, every single thing, i turned down certain graphcics options and i could see internal infrastructures ok but once outside the ground was all blue the water was invisible except for a few bubbles, i was dissapointed not in the game but my system cuz i know that the game it self is one of the best out there.

Anyway i resorted to my reliable friend google, where i saw forums posts from ppl having the same prob, having to solve it via using the 1.3 patch or video driver updates, so i'll try both and make a proper review hopefully.

Honestly I have seen that game on a radeon 980 Pro with 256 MB ram, with everything maxed at 1600x1200, it feel bad to go home and try to play it on a likkle 5200 :-(

You're lucky that game even started on your system and nothing fried in the process. The game is great though, it has a good story line, graphics is awsome thanks to that cry engine, its fairly long and the AI makes it a lot more challenging. I must say that was one of the better games I played.

Very true, the AI mad and the graphics madder. The stage were I just picked up the cry vision goggles, I got into a boat drove out to the cliffside (after killing the dude on the hill) and stared at the water for about 5mins. It pretty bad (This was on a Ati 9800 XT 128mb). A friend of mine saw me playing it and said it was more like a movie and not a game.

Mi a yute never play a game on anything but the hardest level and for Farcry I had two choices play at a easier level or uninstall.

i hated that freaking game but in a good way, if that makes no sence then let me explained, i hated having to deal with the regens, some parts of that game made me disown my computer for days because it was impossible to pass but if you haven't guessed i played it to the end. like billy i wanted to uninstall or reduce difficulty plenty of time but i can guarantee this that even though i've updated my graphics card from a 5200 i will never play that game again, not even to see what it looks like on my 6800gt but all in a a good game, prefer doom3 though.

Well i installed the no-cd patch plus sum new beta-drivers and it worked ok even in full screen, i maxxeed out everything with AA off and it ran not too bad when I'm inside buildings(well the carrier) but once i stepped outside it was rendered unplayable by freezing, so i guess i'll have to resort back to some settings at medium and others at low, but it seems to be a gr8 game i'd rather though to run it on a high end video card but i'm too broke for now, non the less, gameplay seems worthy, water graphics very nice, weapons are good, AI is really good and i'm not even playing on hard. I just need to figure out a video setting that'll run smooth and not look totally horrid.I'll figure sumthin out.
