One Recurring problem I am noticing is that, more and more people are complaining that the Monitors won't come on in they turn on their computer.
What are the possible reasons for this? as i know the ones I know can't be the only one.

Was the monitor manually turned off before/after the machine was shut down?
Does this happen after a restart?
Is it happening with a particular Brand of Monitors?
Are all the Video cards in the system the same?
holla back.

I've been getting more and more of those too, but tt seems to be a power problem Nastro.. and may hint to a problem with the building's power supply.
In the latest case I know of... once the person removed the surge protector it was fine.
Lemme describe the symptoms so devnull can probably help me out too:
Monitor powers up (green light) when turned on but switches to standby (or turns off in another case - though I doubt it was a true power down) as soon as the puter is booted.
that's been the general thing.
dunno the cause but each case I have seen has been remedied by simply switching outlets.

Excellent Point brought out GodKid. I never thought of the electricity being unstable while going to the monitor.

Yep,
My theory was faulty board, video card or power supply

The CMOS battery can be a factor too. Some times messing around with the CMOS battery solves the problem, but more than likely it's the result of a faulty power supply.
