Hey fellas. Have you ever encountered a problem with your USB port under Windows in which some USB devices simply fail to be recognised after a while? I only started to notice this recently. Apparently Microsoft knows about the problem and is working to rectify the issue. You notice this where:

1) USB devices fail to be recognised for no apparent reason
2) Prints sent to your USB printer suffer long delays
3) USB hookups to PDAs work somtimes
4) USB scanners work today, but not tomorrow.

This is usually the case if you have to be switching USB devices from time to time. You can read up more on the microsoft knowledge base article here (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;817900).

True Xeno, I have or...had this problem with my Zip drive. I always wondered why it works one day but not the next and couldnt figure it out, a reboot always worked though.

Guess we'll have to wait for another service pack or patch.

Yeah, I noticed this but figured that it had to do with windows. In linux I have no problems with my USB printer.

Question here, I notice some of you have experience the problem and like some have not. However is this problem for a particular OS or does it span to all windows releases.

It would appear to be Windows-centric Yogi. Mac PCs use the same technology and do not experience such problems. More specifically, it seems to be a Windows XP issue.
