Ok... I gave out ma xbox for it to be modded and ma friend i dunno he made it red ring. He claimed he just plugged it in (he didnt even start to mod it as yet) and it was moving glitchy and then he got the error.
Ok.. sooo i know what your going to say... that glitch in the matrix is a common manufacture defect with the xbox.... but all i am saying is... WHY ME!!?
I carried the box to gameyaad to do an autopsy and the report said buzz off. In a nutshell they said there is nothing we can do.. u need a new mother board. A new wah!!?? hiss teet... so i became very intimate with google and youtube and i looked up all sorts of ways to rectify the situation...but alas i have failed.
So i decided to come to my fellow techies....in hopes that i can find some nice person out there... that knows how to get my dumpling to work again...hopefully for free :D... so i can play my tiger woods vga tour 10 and be merry.
Thus far... all roads lead to buying a new xbox... but... :( .... there must be a way... SAY IT AINT SO

Bwoy sorry to break it to you but you probably gonna need to get a new XBOX. There are techniques to get it to work for a while but it will eventually go.

Sounds to me though that this guy you gave it to messed it up which is why I always suggest taking consoles to the pros who back what they do.

what is the manufacture date?
if its under 3 years ago, force the xbox into RRODing, by wrapping it up in a blanket and turning it on for a while..u can look up videos on youtube..
send it back to MS and they'll give u a new box because of the RROD

Sorry to hear about your loss, but I'm guessing any fix will only be temporary. You should prolly get yourself a new one if you like the xbox so much.

E74 is M$ revision of the RROD on newer models in a temporary attempt to not have the same problem covered under the warranties.

Why this works:
The solder joints inside the console may go bad (for whichever reason). When you heat it up, it melts them and rebonds properly. Why it may NOT work; hot melted metal on silicon is never usually a good idea.
