Need software for HP Jornada 680 H/pc

Hello everyone,
I've been visiting this site for almost a year and I finally decided to sign up.
OK..now to my question:
1) I have a Hp jornada 680 rinning windows CE version 2.11 and yes i know they dont make those anymore and all and yes I know everybody is using version 4 but it seems like there is absoloutly no software out there for my jornada. There was this one website www.cearchives.com but they haven't been updated in about 3 years. I have also been to all the other mobile download sites like tucows and so on and even though they say windows ce it really means pocket pc. Is there anyone out there that knows where I can get software for my jornada; please tell me that its still usefull. :eusa_wall

2) I would like to upgrade to windows ce version 4 but strange enough, I cant find it. Microsoft is only selling the developer packs and ce .net. Does can someone plz give me a link to where I can buy ce version 4 or if you find it for free even better (I'm a cheapscate)

welcome about, I don't have the solution to your problem, though I doubt you'll get to upgrade that pda especially because of the shape of the screen. somebody else might have a solution though, you can always hope.

Well, If ce version 2.11 could work despite the shape of the screan, is there any windows ce upgrade that would work on my jornada?

I decided to send Hp an email about upgrading my jornada and here is what they said:-

I understand that you need information about upgrading from Windows CE
to higher version.

I regret to inform you that changing the version of an operating
system on an HP Palmtop or Jornada product requires replacing the Read
Only Memory (ROM) module. HP does not currently offer upgrades to the
operating system on any of their devices; however, some third-party
resellers may offer upgrades that are no longer available through HP.

If any issues are discovered with the software (including operating
system) or hardware included with the device after it leaves the
factory, the updates are provided at the Web site below. These updates
would be installed to the Random Access Memory (RAM) with all other
added programs, files, and contacts that would have to be reinstalled
if the device was ever reset to factory condition.

Visit the Web site below and follow the steps to download the latest
drivers and software available for your HP Jornada:

1. Select your product from the list.
For example: HP Jornada PC series
2. Select your model from the list displayed.
For example: HP Jornada 728 Handheld PC
3. On the following page, select Software & Driver downloads.

All available updates for your HP Jornada will be displayed.
