It happened to all who had been using a considerable amount of wap. Now plz keep quiet so it can continue.
Digicel gave away more than $100000
$12,000 x 8000 wapusers = $96000!

I would take care in publishing this information unless someone has concrete information that digicel is offering this feature.
I has been brought to my attention by unnamed sources that since Digicel has offered the service of using credit card on their site to add credits to your phone, there has been some amount of credit card fraud that has been occuring.
As a cover up the purpotraitors use the "spiked" credit cards to send credits to several phone numbers at random. As such there is no trace as to who did it.
I would suggest that you get someone from the Digicel office to confirm that such a promotion exist.

thats easy to do, its just that digicel changes the sequence ever so often. its quite easy to create a program to input several numbers and have it work out a formula on how to get the originating code

i don't think it matters as they all have to follow a given formula, the hard part is getting several cards that use the same formula, and then secondly hoping that that batch of cards hasnt been used up already

DIGICEL can reverse this credit i.e after using up this 'free credit' , your 'new' added credit will only be 'sucked' off to pay back that ridiculous amt u recieved.

November 20, 2004, 05:44 PM
Huhhh!!! I dont understand what u said in ur previous post. This is what I am saying, howcome people want to get free credit and it will be removed from their account anyway. If someone got 500 credit and used it up, then everytime they add a card it will be deducted until the 500 has be recovered. So I ask again howcome people wanted to get free credit??
megiddo
November 20, 2004, 05:51 PM
if digi don't realise that they have such a large glitch being exploited over the past couple days, they deserve to lose that money. and if they have realised, well then why don't they stop it, or start deducting the credit from now.

To Nostradamus and Meggido good anologies. In response to meggido's theory of course this is possible that why credit card generators etc are in existence someone with admirable programming skills just needs to get it DONE.
I heard some major credit card fraud was going on though through the site also heard that someone deliberately tampered with the site without using fraudulent cc numbers and caused it.
There are many loopholes in Digicel's network however people just need to discover them and publicise them. I think maybe a separate site is needed for this becasus as someone stated many Digicel employees visit this site in addition moderators are closing down posts of this nature.
I dont want to sound morally lacking but for a company that is now charging $0.49 per min for incoming international calls,3 dollars texting, ridiculous calling rates-I dont top up with a $100 card anymore its just useless, ridiculous wap rates in dowloading a single item a $100 can be finished, exorbitant phone prices and horrible customer service I wouldnt mind beating the bigger, better network if I get caught i'll just change my sim and or provider.DIGICEL SUCKS,we need more companies with mad tingz like free nights and weekends but then you have to pay a minimum monthly bill of $3000 and although thats worth it $1000 for the month pay-as-you-go is alot more convienient.
Hopefully other entrants will provide all these features on pre-paid rather than on post-paid.
I know its long but :)

a company that is now charging US$0.49 per min for incoming international calls
This is the incoming charge when in International ROAMING.
This is a GOOD price when you look at what other networks around are charging for roaming.
I agree that they are all ripping us off but digicel less so in this case.
When I go outside UK it's around £1.40 per minute & sending a text is 40 pence each & that's post-paid. I'm on on T-Mobile UK.

Its funy how u guys posts alot of info with none of it being backed up with any facts. Have u been charged to recieve any international calls???
Horrible customer service?? Well It isnt the best but it is ranked number 1 in Jamaica and that is a fact.
Cheapest select package from digicel is actually Digiselect access at a rate of 750 as monthly subscription - so in effect the cheapest package is 750 a month. Get ur facts together before posting.
Also if u guys have a problem with Digicel then its rather simple, go buy a candw phone or miphone. Makes no sense to bash a company and still use the service.

eeeemmmm..... Bad thing to say. No matter what the product, you will still have some people who are not comfortable with some aspect of it. People differ. If the Management of Digicel thought like you in this respect there would be no company and a lot of its employees out of jobs.
Each consumer will have their opinion. Its the duties of employees of that company to educate the consumer in a way that they will not misconsrue the information of the company.
Mitchie your thoughts.....

Nastro for this period of the year with regards to data that was announced recently Digicel returned to number 1 - taking it back from Courts.
Secondly Nastro I mae that statement with the thinking of how ungrateful customers can get. Remember we can knock digicel all we want but without a digicel we would not have per second billing. Stuff like this makes me really wonder. I know customers want good service but cmon guys. Dont u remember when we made a call for 10 seconds and we would pay for 60 seconds??
With regards to the customers, everybody knows u cant please them, and no system is perfect and without problems.
"Its the duties of employees of that company to educate the consumer in a way that they will not misconsrue the information of the company"
Nastro did u see the notice that was sent out. It was clear as day. I dont remember it clearly but it said that prepaid customers that are roaming in the caribbean will now be charged. It was always free, but that has now changed. And from this came alll the silly rumours about Digicel charging to recieve international calls. The consumers were properly informed, just that they didnt read carefully. As per usual with Jamaicans - they never read carefully.

Ahhh Bwoy.....ok...This is off the topic and I will get the thread to come right back to the topic.
Mitchie, stop and look at what you are saying. Does it seem defensive? This doesn't only happen with Digicel, this happens with ALL ASPECTS OF BUSINESS!!! Some customers will not appreciate something that you do. That does not mean you should tell them to leave and use a next product. I will tell you, I doubt any customer is 100% fully satisfied with the service of any of the providers. Yet, they still market to these customers why, it is these customers that are not 100% satisfied that pays the bills.
Customers will talk of the bad that they encounter. Its called human nature. Think of this, home many good drivers did you see today? Did you talk of any? Imagine you had 2 bad ones, you are more likely to speak of those drivers. Its almost the same principle.
Frankly, if a Digicel employee told me to stop using their service because I didn't like one service that they offered (maybe even something I didn't use), I would be so offended and may do just that.
Why am I, picking up this on my head. Each person is entitled to their opinion and though it may be your opinion that complainers should leave Digicel and use another network, it think that it something that you should reconsider saying.
Digicel may be #1 to you, and they may be great.....but, consumers minds can change. Always remember that.
