Ok guys thought I would share this with you guys. Ropy, Rans, Rojo and I (Greatis) are in a study group. This is based in Montego Bay. We have just started on exam 70-290 so just giving a heads up for anyone in Montego Bay that wants to do their MCSE's they can join in. We basically meet up at a friends house right now to do our stuff. He has 2 machines and I bring mine down when we go so that's 3. Rojo will bring his as well. We have a hub right now that we have borrowed but we will need to buy a new one. hmmm there is no charge but if we are going to buy a hub we will need to collect a little stuff for right now. We will help with light bill in as it comes which will not be much.
We meet every Saturday from 2pm till we are finished. PM me for further details.

What about Sundays??? I feel so left out..........
Greatis
November 11, 2004, 10:10 AM
Well Sundays can always be considered Ramesh but the problem with that is I am not available until about 3pm the earliest on a sunday. CCNA classes end at 5pm i can leave at 3 but will the other members be able to accomodate sundays. I can ask and we will see. If so then why not?

I am new to this so every thing I say might be ignorant and dumb. But how much the exams cost? How advanced are u guys? And what software requirements do your PCs need? In particular, for that exam 70-290 ?

@ crosswire - Here are some answers for your questions:
1. This exam cost roughly US$125.
2. How advance are we? Well, it depends on your definition of advance as it relates to IT/70-290. We are neither n00bs nor are we all gurus.
3. You are only required to have either Windows 2000 or XP installed.

It should be important to point out that after the out come of the first meeting and the arrangements made, the option of doing the 70-270 exam first (Basically a examination on Windows Xp)
In addition the group has taken the stance of being a Certification group whose intent is to become multi-disciplined.
A path will be taken to ensure that even a "non-tech" person can hop on board and be able to learn. This path will extend through many discplines with the members having the option of taking the examination for each discipline. After all money has to pay for those exams. So you may have the knowledge but you choose to do the exam or not.
There are certain essentials that all persons should know, as such the preliminaries "know hows" will be done this coming Saturday November 20, 2004.

oh and man did we have a whale of a time killing each other in Counter Strike. But seriously though I liked the outcome of the first meeting. We have dates and goals set so with the Lord's help and no setbacks we should be good to go.

Well Kilaj did his 70-270 and passed....
I think things should be more organised in January, if all goes well. It should expand its reach through the Montego Bay. There should have been one in Kingston as well but I am assuming the same follows.
You should see more activity coming January.
You have my word ;)

There should be one. You may want to link Tech Guru as to the happenings. Again, you may not see much activity till January.
In addition is should be expanded in to a Cert-Group rather than just being vendor specific.

That is something that we working on as well Kilaj. To go further, if all goes well, we may have more than that equipment to work with, but that is more than counting chickens before they hatch.
Krash....I am aware of Roye's prowess in IT Security. As a matter of fact if I am not mistaken he has also recent aquired the CEH certification. Which KJ and myself has been toying around for sometime as well ;)
Watch the air and keep the pressure on guys. Things to do are coming.
