I had hinted to a friend of mine who had lost his land line phone service to non-payment of bills, he still had nothing to worry as with the new competition coming in CWJ would not want to loose any customers.
SO SAID SO DONE
This line which could no longer send nor recieve calls can now recieve all calls.
Is this CWJ's first step in keeping there customers?
Do you think that they have other plans up their sleeves and if so what kind of plans?

Somehow I was always under the impression that land lines disconnected for non-payment of bills could still receive calls and also make calls to emergency numbers only. Nastrodamus, I don't know if your friend's situation is any different from the norm, then again I could be wrong ???
Update: I got some info from C&W. My understanding is basically correct. Non-payment of a bill will result in 1-way disconnection (receive calls only) for the first 10 days and then a 2-way disconnection thereafter. During the 1-way disconnection you are able to call emergency numbers, access world talk, C&W customer service numbers, etc.
Hope the info is of help. :)

hhmmm....strange. ???
The guys phone was out for a bout 4 months. If you picked up his phone instantly the end of the line would ring, thus no dial tone to make a call. I also know this to happen to myself when I was off the island for three months and returned to have the same type of situation happening to me. The following morning I went and cleared my bill and my line was restored.
I can also accout for at least 3 other cases.
If this should not have been the case then there is either a fault with CWJ's hardware or malicious activity. I shall be gathering more information of this.
