Well, we're finally out of the 8000 series.. the pearl, curve, etc..
The 9000 series... i think its a mockup but who knows:

**********UPDATE****************
NOT A RUMOUR ANYMORE

http://www.engadget.com/media/2008/05/blackberry9000-review-1.jpg

READ the hands on review (http://crackberry.com/blackberry-9000-smartphone-hands-review)

We're all about reviews of products before they're released, but reviewing something before it's even been officially confirmed by a company is its own special brand of magnificent. Granted, these are more like the hands-on impressions of a self-confessed BlackBerry addict, who was willing to fork over $828 US on the off chance that the eBay auction the other day was actually legit. A week later Kevin of CrackBerry.com has the BlackBerry 9000 in hand and seems to be loving every minute of it. Apparently the keyboard is better than the 8800 series, the OS4.6 is smooth, fast and pretty, and the 480 x 320 LCD is "awesome." And don't get Kevin started on 3G: the logo alone brought a tear to his eye -- we're clearly dealing with a bona fide fanboy here.

Yeah same here i dont get it, what in blackberry is making these fan boys continue. But this looks great and the screen look irresistable. Crappy OS, if symbian could be loaded on a sweet hardware like that.

BB just don't make sense to me...plain text emailing thats so archaic .... when will they ever implement html emailing... I just can't see why BB fans continue to use a BB.... thats one drug I'm glad I didn't get addicted to... I presently own a BB as well and its the lamest gadget I have ever owned.... this new 9000 series BB definitely looks good love the formfactor and the screen, and the fact that they have given me back a full qwerty keyboard...as the present keyboard layout on the Pearl justs defeats the purpose of a BB device.... it sucks typing on the Pearl....

would get one just to try it out but not for me unless they update their browser and make Bluetooth functionality easier to use than on the messed up pearls

I'ld bypass this, its just a hyped phone that they'll improve in a couple months. Pretty screen and crappy camera not cutting it in this day and age.

Overall the phone looks nice, but i dont see a reason to shell out top dollar for this.

Ok, it's going to be called the "Blackberry Bold" (personally I don't like the name).
It will have it's own domain which has already been registered:
www.blackberrybold.com and I hear that it's set to be launched on May 12.
Here is a video of the actual device:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wf41zgLf_M
It will support 3G.

RIM finally announced the BlackBerry Bold / 9000 -- we've got specs, but no price or hard launch date. Here we go:

* Family will include HSDPA and EV-DO versions (including an AWS-capable 1700MHz version), much as we'd heard
* 480 x 320 display
* 625MHz CPU, 1GB internal flash memory
* 802.11a/b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 (with A2Dp), GPS, MicroSDHC
* 480 x 320 video recording, photo geotagging
* 4.5 x 2.6 x 0.55-inches, 4.7 ounceshttp://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/05/blacberry-bold-1.jpg

Looks nice I might try my hands back at blackberry. Still disappointed in their browser. If they equip this with something like safari then that would be better. Here's link to gsmarena's intro . . . .

The new browser will be better, and will support media - like movies on youtube for instance. However, if you have a BB don't get all depressed about the default browser, it sucks, just install for free Opera Mini (I believe you can get it at www.operamini.com) by just browsing to it from your bb and installing it). It's a far better browser, that shows your full web pages the way they were intended (kind of like the iphone) and the latest version 4.1 was just released yesterday.

Been using opera mini since the first beta and beta testing since then. Even got a wrist strap mailed to me from them for contest but the latest release still has limitations so would much prefer bb to up their game and give a better browser still

i totally agree with u on this Virus.... its not worth shelling out big bucks for... i actually have one with the beta 4.6 OS and the only thing it has over the curve (which i prefer) that is usable in Jamaica is the processor and the 1GB built in memory.... no lie it's fast,..... but think of it as a eye-candy.... eg. XP and Vista

I have been warming up to Blackberry since they put wifi on their phones. I just may try this one and try see why Cultus hates them so much or see why BBs are so loved.
